today was a pretty good day.

March 5, 2008

Today was a pretty good day.

Had a fried egg and ham sandwich with havarti cheese for breakfast on Sara Lee whole grain bread.  That’s some good breakfast, boy, let me tell ya.  I love me a fried egg on just about anything.  Just wish I’d a had some tomatoes.  That would have been killer.

Went the Y and rode the bike for about eighteen minutes until Zack showed up and wanted to play ball.  We ran five games of one on one.  He beat me three to two.  I’m so bad out of shape.  And he’s getting quicker.  And I’m not…

But that makes two days in a row to the Y.  I gotta get started back with the weight training.  Cardio is good, but weight training in addition helps lose more weight plus that’s what tones you up.  Gotta be lean and mean, ya know.

Had some cottage cheese and peaches for a snack.  I love cottage cheese and peaches.  It’s funny I used to think cottage cheese was nasty.  But man, I think I could eat it at every meal.  Of course that might get a little old.  But I sure do love it.  With bananas and peaches is the best.  Or one or the other is usually how I eat it.

Oh, I also carried 2300 feet of hardwood floor into the house we are going to start work on tomorrow.  Well, I really only carried about a third of it.  Mike and the builder, John, helped to carry it in.  But that’s still like 700 some odd feet.

Half of it went upstairs, so that’s nice.  My legs are rubber.

It really wasn’t too bad.  It’s ash.  Which is fairly light compared to some of the other hardwoods we work with.  I think the boxes weigh about 45 pounds each.  That’s hella better than the 89 pounds cherry weighs.

It’s a good work out though.

Of course I’m going to go negate any of the positive traction I made today by going out to watch the Kentucky basketball game.  Probably have a burger and some fizzy beverages…but what the hell.  Season’s almost over.

rough weekend.

March 4, 2008

I’m so glad the McDonald’s is closed.  ‘Cause I so want a Big Mac.  Already had one today.  And those things are like cocaine, man.  Once it gets into your blood you crave another.

I’ve been so fat.

The weekend was rough on me.  Ate out a few times.  Ate late.  Oh jeez, ate at the Waffle House even.  That was good.  I love the Texas toast breakfast sandwiches with fried egg, bacon and cheese with tomato.  Mmm…fried egg…

Had some chicken fajitas from this new Mexican place I found.  Fajitas really aren’t that bad, it’s just all the sour cream I put on them.  Mmm…sour cream…

And that McDonald’s today.  No body packed a lunch so we had to go out.  And the McDonald’s is so close.  We really didn’t have to go out.  We could have eaten the doughnuts the nice lady bought us.  I’m not sure if that would have been any better than the McDonald’s though.

Yes it would.  Anything is better than the McDonald’s.

Oh well.  That’s the great thing about the Cal Reed diet.  You can slip up and it’s okay.  Every day is a new one to be healthy.  I’m eating cottage cheese and peaches right now.  Only because the McDonald’s was closed and the Taco Hell is too far.

Fast food kills, man.

I didn’t go to the gym today either.  I slacked.  Well, I didn’t really slack too bad, I went to play the bass guitar with my so called band.  And playing the bass I something that’s important to me.  I just didn’t take time to go to the gym though.  I should have gone this morning before work.

I find going to the gym early is good.  I feel better all day.  And if I happen to get a random day off work, I’ve already been to the gym and I’m energized for a whole long day of goofing off.  That’s a hell of a lot better than sleeping until noon.

I’ve got this new workout I’m doing.  Or at least, as soon as I can take my fat ass to the gym I’m going to start.  It’s the LeBron James workout from a back issue of Men’s Health.  I’ll wait to tell you about it if I ever actually start doing it.
